Today was Sunday, that’s why we decided to take our breakfast in the Flying M today. There don’t seem to be more restaurants in Panguitch… We ordered several dishes, and at the end all were happy and sated.
Then we headed for the Bryce Canyon National Park. It’s not a long distance so we didn’t need to spend much time on the road. First we went to the Visitor Center, where – as every time – some souvenirs where bought. Then we went on to “conquer” the park. First stop at Sunrise Point, a first glance into the canyon – and already this one was overwhelming. These colors and shapes! Then we decided to go to the end of the park first and then to stop at all the lookouts on the way back. The clouds which were showing up at the sky this morning had broken up or disappeared at all, so we had beautiful sunlight now to view the various rock formations – what immensely emphasized the colors. We took some small hikes – and it is really noteworthy: even if one has been here for several times already he still discovers new things. This park is by far not that large as some other national parks, but for among the most beautiful ones.
So we spent several hours in Bryce Canyon, enjoyed a picnic, fed some ravens and watched deers. At the end of our visit we did a hike at Mossy Cave, along Paria River which has some nice small waterfalls. A worthy end of our day in the Bryce Canyon!
On the way back we stopped at the Bryce Canyon Trading Post, of course we couldn’t leave without something to buy. After a short stop at the motel we went for diner, again to Flying M (where else...). The beer was tasty, the dishes too, so we went back to the motel well sated after some time. There we did the photo show of the day and let the evening conclude easefully.
