This day we hadn't planned too much for. First we wanted to sleep in after the long trip - but then we all were awake until 8 a.m.
After unhasty preparing for the day we left the motel for breakfast. At the beginning of our vacation we had it the American way, at Denny’s, with scrambled eggs, bacon, sandwiches, hash browns... Afterwards we were absolutely full, that was sufficient until dinner.
Then we headed for the Coronado State Monument. Located a few miles north of Albuquerque one can visit the ruins of Kuaua pueblo here, and it offers a beautiful view onto Rio Grande.
Afterwards we made a stop in the historic old town of Albuquerque, partly along the old Route 66, and at a mall. For dinner we decided for a Mexican restaurant - after all we were in New Mexico.
For the night not being too boring we had a fire alarm shortly after 8 p.m. - but it was a false alarm. Fortunately.
